32 Employer site visits were made.
Assisted 16 employers with job placements.
Provided weekly interview room space and computer availability to employer, Help at Home
Two OJTs, one in Truckee, were successfully completed, resulting in full-time unsubsidized employment.
Presentation made at Sierra College’s “Hot Careers” day.
Presentation given to 150 business leaders at Summit Conference of ERC/SED Corp.
Coordinated large-scale recruitment and presented interview preparation classes to applicants for jobs offered by new restaurant employer, Lumberjacks (500 people interviewed, 50 hired).
Participated in meeting of solo entrepreneurs to encourage and explain benefits of SED Corp. Business Boot Camp.
Attended 3 Chamber Mixers for business networking opportunities.
Attended conference “Preserving a Sense of Place…The Sierra Nevada”, attended by 50 businesses/organizations.

Community and Agency Partnering/Outreach

A presentation was made at Sierra College’s “Hot Careers” day.
On-going collaboration with county Child Support Services involving staff participation in One-Stop registration and information about services provided monthly on-site at county courthouse. Ninety-eight total cases were on calendar during quarter.
Interview and Resume class designed to meet needs of mentally and emotionally challenged young adults was provided to group of 17 referred by A.I.M. Services
Posted volunteer positions for approximately 4 organizations and 5 internships with local businesses.
Monthly interactive meeting presentations provided to county Partnership group, and subsequent meetings with Veterans’ Administration, Adecco, Nevada Union High School and Victor Services.
Case Managers attended and participated in ROP Annual Luncheon and provided training input to ROP staff.

Resource

Opened satellite One-Stop office in Truckee.
Provided classes in interviewing, resumes and customer service to 123 people.
Facilitated 2-session focus group for “The Mature Job Seeker”, 12 people attended.
Interview and Resume class designed to meet needs of mentally and emotionally challenged young adults was provided to group of 17 referred by A.I.M. Services.
WIA Classroom Training informational sessions provided to 94 clients.
Career Counseling volunteer completed M.S. degree internship hours, performing career assessments, counseling, and action stop plans for over 100 clients. High degree of satisfaction and increased motivation was reported by clients served.
Participated in Elevate America Microsoft Voucher program, distributing 106 vouchers and responding to numerous inquiries.

Subsidized Employment

Provided jobs through Subsidized Employment Program to 125 participants, in private businesses, public agencies, governmental entities, and in PIC-operated workshop setting

Staff Development

Case Manager, Sandy Dumont graduated from year-long Nevada County Chamber Leadership Institute.
Case Manager, Sandy Dumont attended 4-day training conference at SHRM International Conference. Focus was on all major HR issues and special topics included Healthcare Reform and Placement in Challenging Economic Environments.
